Deep and Steep Insight GPS Skydiving Altimeter

The Deep and Steep Insight GPS Skydiving Altimeter combines clear digital altitude information with GPS tracking, flight data and digital jump logging. It gives skydivers useful information in the aircraft, during freefall, under canopy and after the jump.

Insight GPS Skydiving Altimeter with Track Recording

The Insight goes beyond a conventional digital altimeter by adding integrated GPS technology. As a result, it can automatically record your track during a skydive. It also provides useful flight information while keeping the display clear and easy to read.

GPS Flight Information

During your jump, the Insight can provide a range of GPS and altitude information. For example, you can view:

Ground speed
Ground track
Current glide ratio
Landing zone glide ratio
Distance to the landing zone
Direction to the landing zone
Vertical speed
GPS markers and active landing zones
Adjustable landing zone altitude offset

Landing Zone Navigation

You can store GPS landing zones and select the appropriate landing area for your jump. The Insight then shows your distance and direction to the selected landing zone.

In addition, the altimeter can compare your current glide ratio with the glide ratio needed to reach the landing zone. Therefore, you have additional information available while flying your canopy.

Deep and Steep App and Digital Logbook

After your jump, you can transfer GPS tracks and logbook information to the Deep and Steep app. You can then review your freefall and canopy flight data, including your GPS track and a 3D representation of your flight path.

The Insight also keeps your 20 most recent skydives available on the device. Meanwhile, you can access your complete digital logbook through the Deep and Steep app.

Wireless Connectivity

The Insight works within the wider Deep and Steep ecosystem. For example, it can connect wirelessly with compatible equipment, including the Soundlink audible altimeter, compatible HUD glasses and the Deep and Steep app.

Battery Life and Charging

The Insight offers approximately 10 days of skydiving from a full charge, depending on how you use its features. Deep and Steep states that this can provide more than 100 skydives between charges.

Furthermore, a 20-minute charge can provide enough power for a day of jumping. A full charge from 0% to 100% takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. The Insight uses USB-C for charging and computer connections.
